“Format: Detect” was an engaging festival game at FORMAT15, the International Photography Festival. It allowed participants to become detectives and recover stolen photographs taken by ‘The Collector.’ The game featured on and offline missions, combining animation with a noir-inspired user interface design. Participants could create their detective identities, explore festival venues, and solve clues to locate the stolen photographs. Successful completion earned a spot in the Hall of Fame.
The project included two narrative animations and interactive elements, enhancing the gaming experience across diverse locations in Derby. The use of animation and UI design created an immersive and visually captivating crime-solving adventure, making it a standout attraction at the festival.
